Jelavic: West Ham to Counter Offer

Despite all the talk of a "take it or leave it" clause in the first offer, West Ham are reportedly preparing a counter-offer for Jelavic after Rangers' initial rebuttal.  If this is true, I'm not sure how I feel about this.  I'm sure he's worth it, but the club need a creative midfielder or winger too, and with a reported 10M transfer budget this window, it doesn't leave much room for further acquisitions.  It's not my money, but I hope it's not a penny more, and, instead, includes player swap deal.   Perhaps Piquionne?  We can hope.

  1. £5 million without Piquionne
    £7 million with Piquionne

    Seems reasonable!

  7. Taking Piquionne off the wage bill would be a huge bonus for us. I feel like we would have to at least pay some of his wages were he to leave. Hes on a reported 38k a week!! Jelavic looks like he could be a great buy for us but at a very large financial cost. Although i do question why we havent gone for Maynard. It looks like hes going to Wigan for a meagre £2million which would seem, from what ive seen of him at least, an absolute steal! Maynard is good for goals and is very pacey, a bit of another baldock type player but with more pace! I think we should really be looking at him as a good option. Surely he would rather get promoted with us than relegated with Wigan.

  11. Would rather keep Collison!

Don't think this guy is anywhere near worth the money being asked & at 26 we won't get the money back for him if we sell him on

Would rather they offered £7m or £8m for Rhodes whose worth every penny & could easily be sold on for a fat profit!
